The municipality of Al Ghat required a design for a public park outside the city, featuring picnic sites, public entertainment centres, play, sport and recreational facilities. The site was situated on top of the escarpment with expanded views over the town itself. Three recreational centres were placed to service surrounding picnic facilities. The picnic facilities were placed around the perimeter offering the best views. Individual privacy is culturally important. This was maintained by the outward orientated locations and by earthworks that provided privacy from within the park. The site was designed to maximise a feel of desert green. The surroundings of the recreational centres were planted to create a lush green environment. The remainder of the site was planted with a dense network of desert trees.
