The existing roundabout required an enhanced logistical solution. The ADA redesigned the road interchange using several underpasses. We developed the landscape design around a circular shape as a reminder to the roundabout located here previously. Due to the importance of this junction, as a link to royal facilities and international visitors, flags around the previous roundabout were often hoisted during such events. The layout emphasised this as a prominent design feature. The semi-circular flagpole terrace formed the basis of the design. Rock terraces were arranged to support the circular theme. These were required to accommodate level differences of up to 12m in a very tight space, while the flagpole terrace was to remain plain. The design was developed for the ADA.
