Qortuba Housing Project

Based on the master plan developed by Solidere International for the Qortuba Housing Project, we developed a landscape and wayfinding design therefor. We based our design philosophy around the development of the central spine and main landscape park. This was developed as an architectural interpretation of a wadi system (dry river valley). The architectural polygonal wadi shapes created a water run, water bodies, plazas, walkways and earth berms or terraces. The polygonal shapes formed the identity, which was applied to paving patterns, linking Neighbourhood Parks together in a circular route. A wayfinding system was also developed on this basis.
